*I am trying to omit lunch meat, so on Sunday, I am going to have my husband grill chicken breasts for lunch meat that week.  This is one way I'm trying to serve my family healthier foods.  Check out 5 Things You Need To Know About Lunchmeat and maybe this will change your mind about the pre-packaged lunch meats!

Weekly Menu

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  I will not be spending my morning in the grocery store!  We are going to try and eat what we have in stock this week!  This should be a fun week of making up meals!  I will probably do a milk, juice, and banana run later in the day, but for now, I'm making our menu after taking inventory!

Menu for the Week

I just completed my weekly shopping trip.  I was sad to see the milk at Kroger was not marked down.  I had to buy some at full price ($3.49/gallon).  I did find some awesome deals, like sandwich bread for $0.49, Oceanspray Cranberry Sauce $0.50/can, Diapers $4.99, Oyster Crackers $0.69, Split Chicken Breast for $0.99/lb, and a few more things).



My goal for the week is to not go to the store unless we absolutely have to do so, like if we run out of milk.

Menu for the Week



Here is my menu for this upcoming week.  Can you believe it is only the middle of January and I am already giving up on one of my goals?!?!?!!?!  My goal is to grocery shop every two weeks this year and plan my menu's accordingly, but is much more difficult than I thought, since I have to shop and feed 6 people!  So, I am going week to week right now.

Sunday: Three Cheese Chicken Alfredo Bake with homemade Alfredo sauce, homemade rolls
Monday:  Crockpot Chili, Cornbread
Tuesday:  Crockpot Jambalaya,  Applesauce
Wednesday: French Toast (with homemade sourdough), Bacon
Thursday:  Meatloaf, Spinach, Sweet Potatoes

Menus

I am going to start planning out my first two weeks of meals for the month of January!  I am on the ball this week since I am not working- my husband and I took vacation time so that we could spend the holidays at home with our kids!  I have talked with my husband about my goals for this new year and he seems to be on board with most all of them, so now I'm onto menu planning!

Menu for the Week



Christmas is over, but the food has not disappeared!  We have lots of leftovers from Christmas day and Christmas Eve that I hope to use this week! 

Monday- Turkey, Vegetable Soup, Sourdough Bread
Tuesday- Open Face Turkey Sandwiches, Mashed Potatoes, and other leftovers
Wednesday- Turkey (or chicken, if turkey is all gone) Dumplings, Sourdough Bread
Thursday- Pizza from Kroger
Friday- Spaghetti and Meatballs, Sourdough Bread
Saturday- TBA
Sunday- TBA

Since my husband and I are on vacation this week from work, we will had to buy extra groceries for lunches!  Here is what I have available:  PB&J, Country Ham Sandwiches, Leftovers, Yogurt, Fruit, and Chips.  We received a gift card to Chiptole from my brother-in-law, so we will plan on eating that for lunch on Wednesday.

Wow, has it really been a week since I last blogged?!?!?!  This holiday season is quickly going by!  I have been so busy with work functions and family things that I have pushed this blog to the back burner! 

I wanted to share another busy week's menu with you.  Here is what I have planned:

Our after school snacks this week are going to consist of cookies, apples & peanut butter, popcorn, or graham cracker sticks!

Weekly Menu

Since I was out of work today with a sick child, I went grocery shopping.  Yes, I did take my sick child with me!  I have planned our our meals for the next week or so.  I am not going to attach a day to the meal, since our schedules are always changing, we sometimes don't have a long time to devote to dinner.

Microwave Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Cantelope
Easy Pleasing Enchilladas, Salad
20 Clove Turkey Breast , Baked Potatoes, Roasted Broccoli

Menu for the Week

I wish I could say that I have planned a menu for this week, but I haven't.  I did not go grocery shopping this weekend.  Now that I think about it, I haven't gone to the store once this weekend!  I went a few times last week and grabbed some stuff that was on clearance, that I stuck in the freezer, so I am going to sit here and figure out my menu as I type. 



Sunday- Homemade Chili, Crackers
Monday- Sausage, Eggs, Toast, Fruit
Tuesday- Baked Chicken, Salad, Red Potatoes
Wednesday- Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Rolls, and Salad
Thursday- Some type of Pork Dish with Apples, Red Potatoes....TBA
Friday- Pizza Night!
Saturday- Rehearsal Dinner for my Brother's Wedding!
Sunday- Wedding Food!

Breakfasts this week will consist of instant oatmeal packets, yogurt, cereal, cheese toast, or peanut butter toast.

Lunches will consist of leftovers, sandwiches, or frozen burritos.

After school snacks that I have on hand are peanut butter crackers, cheese crackers, Gogurt sticks, and pudding.
